  Hi Jeff,

  I respectfully disagree with that characterization. My interest is not in improving anyone's public image or engaging in vandalism. My concern is that Wikimedia should accurately reflect the current legal and factual circumstances surrounding the file.

  The image is no longer available from the original source that was cited to support its publication, the copyright owner has requested its removal, and the underlying criminal records have been expunged pursuant to a court order after all charges were dismissed. Those are objective facts that, in my view, warrant a good-faith discussion about whether the continued hosting of the image remains appropriate.

  I recognize that reasonable editors may disagree. However, raising those issues through the established Wikimedia processes is not an attempt to rewrite history or suppress public information. Rather, it is an effort to ensure that Wikimedia's content remains accurate, well-sourced, and consistent with its own policies.

  I hope we can keep the discussion focused on the merits of the file, its sourcing, and the applicable policies, rather than on assumptions about contributors' motives. 2026CA (talk) 18:16, 3 July 2026 (UTC)
